Purpose of audience profiling for your campaign
We will have a clear understanding of who we are aiming our campaign at, therefore finding out: Beliefs, Interests and values. Alongside this we can tailor the content to suit our target audiences. As we know what area our campaign is based in means we would know the interests, beliefs, values of the area we are able to add this into our research. The use of primary and secondary research has helped with the purpose of the audience profiling as we are able to see what audience, demographic and psychographic would be interested in watching our campaign advert and may be experiencing the topic we are doing.
Using research data to develop a profile.
We researched Primary and Secondary research to develop a profile so we as campaigners can get a little idea about bullying and what other campaign’s do to try to stop bullying. The Primary Research helped us because we got some answers from people in our class, who are the same age group as our target audience, this is affective because we can have an idea of what they think about bullying and what they would do if they witnessed bullying. Secondary research helped us because we got to see what other campaigns and charities do.

Legal and moral
5.1
Advertisements that are suitable for older children but could distress younger
children must be sensitively scheduled (see Section 32: Scheduling).
As our advert will contain two actors being rude to each
other including offensive wording we will make sure that the advert is aired
after 9pm as little children will be in bed and will not distress them as they
won’t see the advert.
5.4
Advertisements must not condone or encourage bullying.
As we based our advert on
bullying we had decided that we wanted to show an example of the point we are
trying to get across which is bullying is not right and there is always someone
there to help. We are using the actors and scenes in order to inform people
about bullying and that it is not right. So at the end of the advert we will
say that no one had got hurt when making the advert and we are not trying to
encourage bullying at all.
5.8
Child actors may feature in advertisements but care must be taken to ensure
that those advertisements neither mislead nor exploit children's inexperience,
credulity or sense of loyalty.
Our actors will be aged 16
and over.
4.1
Marketing communications must not contain anything that is likely to cause
serious or widespread offence. Particular care must be taken to avoid causing offence
on the grounds of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
Compliance will be judged on the context, medium, audience, product and prevailing
standards.
To make sure that our
advert will cause no offense to anyone we will make sure that our actors are of
different races and will not portray one type of race, gender as bad or portray
them as they are known stereotypically.
4.2 Marketing communications must
not cause fear or distress without justifiable reason; if it can be justified, the
fear or distress should not be excessive. Marketers must not use a shocking
claim or image merely to attract attention.
In our advert we will be using a disturbing scene
from which there will be swearing but not two excessively and a scene of a
bully being rude and bullying a victim. This will make the audience feel a bit
distressed due to the scene. The reason why we are showing this scene is to
show that bullying can happen to anyone, anywhere and that there is always
someone there to talk to and that there is always a way to get help.
4.7 Marketers must take particular
care not to include in their marketing communications visual effects or
techniques that are likely to adversely affect members of the public with
photosensitive epilepsy.
To make sure that every viewer of the audience is
able to watch our advert we will make sure not to add bright scenes from which
will distress any viewer.
5.4
Advertisements must not condone or encourage bullying.
Our campaign advert is based on bullying and will
contain a scene from which there will be bullying. At the end of the advert we
want to put a disclaimer that the scene included was for informational purposes
in order to inform the audience about bullying and where you can get help if
needed and that in no way, shape or form are we as a brand trying to
promote/encourage bullying. We are trying to stop and prevent it.
3.3 Marketing communications must
not mislead the consumer by omitting material information. They must not
mislead by hiding material information or presenting it in an unclear,
unintelligible, ambiguous or untimely manner.
As our advert will be about bullying, we want to
make sure that everything that is included and what is shown is in a clear
matter as our idea for our advert may be confusing as we decided as a group
that there would be a bully and victim but the roles will be reversed meaning
that the bully will be in the victims position and the victim in the bully’s to
show that it can happen to anyone and how it feels to be in other persons position
and this may be confusing for the audience so we need to portray it in a clear
manner.

Proposal
Task 3B- #STANDUPTOBULLYING
Target Audience.
This short film is aimed at young adults because bullying is more targeted to young adults more than other ages. It shows contents of physical and emotional abuse. We have decided to use the stereotypical bullying scenes such as bullying in school toilets.
Purpose:
Inform: You can get involved by 1. Helping out bullying, i.e. telling teachers, parents, any form of help. 2. Get in contact with them on their website, get involved and join them.
Educate: This will show bully's how they make people feel. And that it can happen to a range of different ages, but portraying that school is one of the main areas from which bullying takes place.
Entertain: This will entertain people who like to help bullying and assist people in need and to help them recover after the hard part which would be telling someone.
Providing a service: #Standuptobullying fully supports stopping bullying for good.
Persuade: The reason for this short film is persuading bullies that it's bad and horrible, and for victims that there are people to talk too that understand and want to help and not to be scared about what is happening.
Platform: YouTube, #Standuptobullying website are places where you can access this short film. The advert would be shown on TV as well as YouTube. There would be social media platforms including Facebook/Twitter
Synopsis: The short campaign short film is set mainly in the school toilets where the actual bullying is taking place. School is one of the main places from which bullying takes place and it would be set in the school toilets as this is a place where the bullies can bully their victims as there are no teachers around meaning that they would not get in trouble for what they are doing.
Sub-Genre: Society and current affairs and bullying. This short film is showing violence emotionally and physically.
Format: Short filming campaign containing loose narrative around bullying and public involvement.
Techniques:
Reconstruction: Actors playing bully and victims.
Biased: One side of the argument. The bully's perspective and how the bully feels and how the bully can get help.
Captions: Once a bully always a bully.
Logistics:
Location: School toilets, around the school
Timeframe: Around 2 ½ minutes.
Images:
Graphic: This film has physically and emotional abuse so this will be for the ages 12 and over.
Resources:
Equipment: School toilets, corridor of Leyton Sixth form, filming camera.
Summary: Image a world where bullies were victims and the victims were bully’s. It is a short clip showing abuse from victims discussing how it is bad to be a bully and that being a bully is the worst thing. There are going to be a gang of victims making the bully feel sad about what they are, shouting "once a bully always a bully". As the film continues the bully will feel intimidated and upset.
Moral message/help:
The message that we as a group want to portray is that bullying is not OK and that it wont be tolerated. The reason why we are showing a bullying scene in the advert is to make the audience emphasis with the actors to feel what they are going through and to make the audience think how they would feel if they were in their position and by using this technique we would want to make the message very clear that bullying is not OK and no one should go through it or encourage it because we are all equal. At the end of the scene we would want to add rhetorical questions such as 'how would you feel if it was you'. Furthermore we would emphasize the help that victims can get. At the end of the advert we would list and give options to the audience from which they can get help such as a anonymous helpline from which they are able to talk about their worries, charities that can help and just mentioning the people around them and reassuring them that they can help to. Majority of the time victims don't want to tell people around them such as parents , teachers because they don't want to be portrayed as weak therefore we will emphasize that you are not weak and that people are around you to help no matter what and will not think less of you. We will use phrases like 'they love you', 'you are not letting anyone down but getting help'.

Short Story Film Poster
The software I used to create my film poster was Photoshop. When creating this I had found it very easy as I already has some experience with Photoshop in the past therefore knowing the basic movements of the software meaning it was easier for me to get started straight away as I already knew the software and the basics very well. To create the film poster I had used many different tools such as the blur tool which was used to blur the edges of the main image in the center because after using the quick selection tool to get rid of the background the edges were left quiet harsh with a visible line which makes it very obvious to the audience that the background has been taken out so this tool insured that the edges were smooth due to being blurred which makes the image look very realistic. I used the basic copy and paste method to insert images. When using Photoshop I made sure that I was very clear with the layers that I had so there would not be any confusion in what I was trying to create. Alongside this I had refereed to the brief to make sure that the crietera that needed to be included was in the film poster.
